I heard that the combination of eclipses happened this August 2017 is very rare, like once in a century. First happened partial lunar eclipse on August, 7th and today, August 21st, many people in the US were watching total solar eclipse.
There was a lot of speculation on how this double fenomenon will affect our near future, from Vedic astrologists to modern scientists. I tried to listen to everyone and now my head is like a bowl of soup. Actually, this is not so important. My goal today was to watch the total solar eclipse live.
Here in Austin visibility of solar eclipse was 50% and I decided to stick to NASA's channels in internet to follow their Oregon watch of total eclipse. I even learned how to do print-screen (shift-command-4) on my new Mac and made several images.
Here is my track of the best moments of the eclipse.
Moon is "eating" the Sun little by little:
Till it almost blocks it:
But the Sun is escaping and you need special protection again. The first strong rays of the Sun are free and here is a flash! Even a telescope needed some moments to change the lense.
Lenses are back again and we can see how the Sun is starting to separate from the Moon. First it is still attached as a simple ring, then with a diamond:
Sun's freedom every moment is closer and closer:
My dear Sun, I hope tomorrow you will feel better, today your shine was too sharp and electric.
And I wish all of us a good day tomorrow!
