Nearly 2 years ago, in October 2015, one of my friends invited me to read together in a group "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron. May be it was not a coincidence to be invited by one Julia to read a book of another Julia, but the truth is that on October, 11, 2015, I started a new big journey in attempt to find my own "way".
"The Artist's Way" is a trilogy. Each book is one more step forward to discover your own creative self, a 12 week program with guidance and tasks. The first book was a bit boring for me, but only because I already sorted out that pile of questions on my own.
The second book was really important for me. First, the tasks were a bit different and more exciting to work with. Secondly, the content of the book was much more interesting, there were many things I was currently curious about and needed to know.
I still need to finish the third book because I was interrupted with another book by Julia "The right to write", but I'm really close to end my voyage. All of the books are easy to find on Amazon.com, just click the image to find all the options and details:
All books are translated to Russian and translated really well, I should say. I read two of them in Russian and one in English. And since the first book, "The Artist's Way" was in Russian, my major creative contract is in Russian as well. Julia asks for this symbolic form of commitment in the beginning of every book and I think it really works:
Especially with a sticker attached, with a fun animal and a quote from my favorite Omar Khayyam. In my frivolous translation it would sound something like:
"Do not hold back what is going away,
and do not push away what comes.
And then happiness will find you itself.
I also have one contract for "Walking in this world" in English:
I already wrote my tribute to Julia Cameron and will repeat one more time:
Thank you, Julia! I enjoyed your books a lot and will keep looking for the new ones!
